Grundlegende Richtung

MEZEKƎRƎ - Centering Arts of the Global Majority and Diaspora, ein Verein, dessen Tätigkeit nicht auf Gewinn gerichtet ist, möchte durch seine Fragestellungen, Methoden und Vorhaben Alternativen entwerfen zu jenen politischen, ästhetischen und disziplinären Trennungen und Verwerfungen, die zu einer notorischen Delegitimierung migrantischer, minoritärer oder auch nicht-akademischer Positionen und Praktiken führen.
In diesem Sinn möchte MEZEKƎRƎ durch ihre Arbeit, künstlerische und politische Bildung sowie transdisziplinäre und translokale Forschung an der Schnittstelle von Kunst, Migration und Wissenschaft fördern. Und setzt dabei auf migrantisches und minoritäres Wissen und Praxis, auf kritische und radikale Pädagogik und auf künstlerische Herangehensweisen und Verfahren.
Die Forschungs- und Projektvorhaben des Vereins sind grundsätzlich transdisziplinär und translokal ausgerichtet; sie sind selbstreflexiv und versuchen die eigene Position offenzulegen innerhalb historisch gewachsener Herrschaftsverhältnisse und Hierarchien; sie positionieren sich im Sinn eines politischen Antirassismus und -sexismus und gegen (neo-)koloniale Verhältnisse.

The organisation

MEZEKƎRƎ - Centering Arts of the Global Majority and Diaspora a non-profit association, aims to design alternatives to those political, aesthetic and disciplinary divisions and distortions that lead to a notorious delegitimization of migrant, minority or even non-academic positions and practices through its questions, methods and projects.
In this sense, MEZEKƎRƎ aims to promote through its work, artistic and political education as well as transdisciplinary and translocal research at the intersection of art, migration and science. And in doing so, focuses on migrant and minority knowledge and practice, critical and radical pedagogy, and artistic approaches and practices.
The research and project projects of the association are basically transdisciplinary and translocal; they are self-reflexive and try to reveal their own position within historically grown power relations and hierarchies; they position themselves in the sense of a political anti-racism and -sexism and against (neo-)colonial relations.
